Cuban Hotel Wins Int'l Award

Havana.- The Hotel Sandals Royal Hicacos, in Varadero beach, won the World Travel Awards to the best hotel on a Caribbean island for the seventh year in a row.

According to analysts, the award acknowledges the quality of services, the staff's training, security, hospitality and solidarity, among other aspects.

The experts recalled that the award is the result of a survey among 225,000 travel agencies and tourism professionals who voted for the establishment.

The World Travel Awards are considered the most prestigious prize granted since 1993 to companies with high quality standards.

Built in 2002, the five-star Hotel Sandals Royal Hicacos offers 404 rooms, including a presidential suite and two Royal suites.
